2025 North American Annual Ranking Report
Which equipment actually carries your floor, and which individual machines work hardest per unit. Measured across the ecofit network, not surveyed, not estimated.
What is in it
Two rankings for every equipment category. Share of facility usage tells you what your members actually did. Average daily use per unit tells you how hard each machine had to work to deliver it. Read together, they show you where you are short on equipment and where you are carrying dead weight.
The strength rankings are the ones that change a buy. Strength is where the floor space goes, and it is where the spread between what gets purchased and what gets used is widest. Four categories are broken out: selectorized, plate loaded, jungle gym, and multi station.
The cardio half of this report is published openly in Equipment Intelligence Is a Category Now.
Strength rankings
Percentages are each category's share of total facility strength usage, so the four charts below are on one common scale and can be read against each other. A single jungle gym adjustable pulley station carries more of the average floor's strength usage than any other piece in the building.

Same test as the cardio side. A category that ranks modestly on share but high on hours per unit is one you are short of. A category that ranks high on share but low per unit is one you have too many of.

How to read this against your own floor
Network averages are a benchmark, not a plan. The value is in the gap. If your adjustable pulley stations run well above 4.80 hours a day, you are short of them and members are queuing. If your squat racks run above 1.54, you have a stronger free weight culture than the average club and your next buy should reflect that.
That comparison is what ecofit does continuously. Your own floor tells you what happened. The network tells you where it is going.
